First thing on the agenda is the Florence Cathedral (1420-1440). This is Brunelleschi's exemplification of the fusion of medieval and modern (Renaissance) principles. In the challenge to construct a dome larger than that of the Pantheon, Brunelleschi spent time studying ancient ruins in Rome.
We will also be taking a look at Brunelleschi's Ospedale degli Innocenti (1419-1440) and Santo Lorenzo (1421-1470).
